Forested

And for you pleasure of pain, yet another original poem. Hope you enjoy it.  If it's terrible, let me know, if it's not let me know.

Hiding in Plain Sight

They hide, the small ones.

The little people, the creatures

No one believes in anymore.

But look.

One could possibly see them, peering

No, one may not. Or

What was that?

Dancing of the trees

When I think of the

Wind,

I think of trees,

Joyously dancing

With complete abandon.

That’s how creating feels;

Like the dancing of the trees.

February

Pensive

What can I say, it's Winter, and that means painting season for me!  I seem to do more during the winter months (could it be because it's so COLD outside? Probably). Any I've settled into my new space pretty well. Here most days by 10:00 am. and stay most days 'til 6:00 pm. I'm normally closed on Sundays.  But if ceiling lights are on, I'm probably here or will return shortly.  Usually I close up for lunch around noon.

If the flag is out, drop in.

I was supposed to be giving a Pen & Ink Class at Hyatt's in Clarence starting this week Thursday evenings starting at 6:30pm but at this point it looks like it will be delayed until the 14th so Hyatt's can get enough people for them to want to run the class. So y'all sign up for it OK?

Will keep you posted as to what happens this week with it.

Belated Holiday Wishes

Roundup

Happy Holidays, late as it is!

November and December were very busy for me, so I didn't get too many Christmas Cards out or other greetings of the Holidays. But I was thinking of you all.

In November of 2012 I was busy setting up a new Studio/Gallery space here on Broadway in Alden, NY. That took alot of my time away from painting/drawing and computer-ing(is there such a word?).  So I've been quiet except for the posts about the Grand opening on December 1st, 2012.  Since then it has been very busy with the new space and family visiting and all the usual Holiday and Christmas things we do.

So, as I start a new year in a new studio, my first permanent public space, I hope to create more work and have more people see it than before.  I'm looking forward to meeting friends new and old.  Spending time visiting with whosoever God brings in the door as well as having the additional working space to try some larger works that I've been desirous to do.  This year will bring what it brings, I'm excited and anxious, looking ahead and leaving the comfort of a sequestered studio.

Thank you all for the encouragement in my endeavors for the last year or so.  I wouldn't trade this job for another except with great reluctance.  I do love my job! (most of the time, every work has it's unpleasantries).

Thanks for visiting!

A heart felt "Thank You" to the Fifty plus people who have visited the Studio this first week of being open. It's a real change from what I've been used to in a studio space.  I think it will work out for the better tho'.  Again,  Thank You to all who visited in this first week of being a "Public" space. Look forward to seeing who will come in this week!
